Watch Maroon 5 Crash Weddings In New Music Video

Pop rock band Maroon 5’s new music video for their latest single, “Sugar,” is quite different than any other music video that has ever been shot. The video is based all around crashing weddings across Los Angeles on December 16th.

Coincidentally, “Wedding Crashers” director David Dobkin directed this music video. Dobkin and the band have been close friends for over a decade and have been talking about doing a video together for about as long as they have been acquainted. Dobkin said, “It was one of the great experiences of my career making the ‘Sugar’ video with Adam and the boys.”

None of the couples knew that this was happening. The film crew was able to get into the weddings — which is probably the only part that was planned — and set up a stage with a white curtain. Maroon 5 then sneaks in behind the curtain and sets up, the curtain then drops, and they are in the middle of playing their song.

The look on the bride and groom’s faces are priceless. They go from utter shock and awe, to jumping on the dance floor and rocking out with one of America’s most popular rock bands.

Adam Levine, Maroon 5’s lead singer, described the shooting of the video to Rolling Stone, “It was an out of body experience. I had no idea I would be affected by the overwhelming reactions we received from the couples and guests. Being able to create an unforgettable experience for several people was the highlight of it all.”

The only problem I would have with this is, you’re just marrying your wife and now she is drooling over Adam Levine right in front of you! Oh well… move over Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, Maroon 5 became the best wedding crashers of all time.

The video will make its TV debut Saturday, January 17th at 9 a.m. on VH1’s Top 20 Countdown.
